The best asset to this beautiful resort has to be the STAFF. Having the saxophonist parade around the pool on a gondolier was a memory I will remember forever! Just fabulous! Lots of lunch time options for food too from the ‘grab and go’ areas to the pool / beachside restaurants. Gents, remember to pack long trousers for the higher end restaurants!! The entertainment team did a great job and there is always something to do if you are done with relaxing. Our favourite is the French one but all very high standard. Although, I’ve traveled twice to Secrets Akumal, and didn’t find the ride to be that awful. Thanks, guys! Yes, we factored in the ride to the airport as a potential “con” of UNICO. Zoetry, of course, looks fantastic, but wondering if it would be *too* quiet for a friend trip! It’s been on my radar since it opened, and after looking at more recent pictures in the Facebook fan group, it’s even more appealing! We don’t mind a little bit of a “party” vibe, since it’s friends, but don’t want Cancun spring break, either. All three are coming in at very similar prices, but Unico is the least expensive of the 3. Unico is appealing to us for the reason you mentioned- it’s a short, fun trip, so this might be the perfect time to try it out. We are also worried about the room renos that are still going on- I wouldnt enjoy the bathroom privacy issues of a non renovated room! Especially for a friend trip.
Ocea_nixe3, yes I can tell the beach at Unico isn’t the best, and normally I am a beach person! But, I’ll be traveling to a Negril a short time later, so the beach isn’t as important this trip.īeyond, they all look pretty great! Maroma has always been on my list, but I wonder if it is that different from Akumal.
